3 Rohingyas detained in Moulvibazar

Three Rohingyas, including two women, were detained by local people in Moulvibazar headquarters and handed over to the police. They are said to have escaped from the Kutupalong camp of Ukhia in Cox's Bazar district. SI of Moulvibazar Model Police Station received the news. Saiful Islam brought them to the Model Police Station with the help of Sangeet Force.

Police and locals said that on Saturday (May 13) afternoon, two women and a youth were detained by local people from Shamerkona market on Shamsernagar road while traveling to India through Chatlapur border in Kulaura.

Inspector (Investigation) of Moulvibazar Model Police Station said that during the interrogation of the detained Rohingyas, they gave the following name and address - Hashima (18), father - deceased Noor Alam, address - Sabullakata Camp, Block B-5, Camp No-16. Sajida (17), Father- Sirajul Islam, Address- Unchipra Camp, Block- A-5, Camp No- 22 and Mujibur Rahman (17), Father- Abul Hashim, Address- Balukhali Camp, Block- A-2, Camp No. - 9, Thana-Ukhia, District-Cox's Bazar.

He also said that the three detained Rohingyas managed to escape from the Rohingya camp on the morning of May 12 and came to Moulvibazar bus stand on May 13 to enter India through the Chatlapur border of Kulaura upazila.

Later, on the way from Moulvibazar bus stand to Chatlapur border, the local people detained them at Shyamerkona Bazar. The police brought the three Rohingyas to the police station after receiving the news.

The OC also said that the three detained Rohingyas will be sent back to the respective Rohingya camps.
