Meeting on preservation of Manipuri alphabet-cultural heritage
On the occasion of the 2nd foundation anniversary of Hairol Foundation in Moulvibazar, a discussion meeting was held to protect the Manipuri alphabet, language, Manipuri cultural heritage, and tributes were paid to the veterans who contributed to the development of The Bhanubil Drama Party and Drama Party.
Today Sunday (March 19) at 2 pm, Hyrol Foundation organized this event at Lakshminarayan Mandap of Bhanubil Madher Gaon village. Poet and researcher, Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad president AK Sheram was the chief guest in the discussion program under the chairmanship of Konthoujam Shilpi, founder president of Hyrol Foundation.
Poet and writer Khairom Indrajit, daily Prothom Alo Kamalganj correspondent Mujibur Rahman Ranju, Desh TV's Moulvibazar district correspondent Saleh Elahi Kuti, Haktiarkhola government primary school assistant teacher Kunjarani Sinha and others were special guests in the program co-hosted by Laina Devi and Ayekpam Anju.
Thongjam Sukh delivered the welcome address on the occasion. Among others who spoke were Roshan Mia, UP Member of Ward No. 6 of Adampur Union, Brinda Rani Sinha, Assistant Teacher of Hoktiarkhola Government Primary School, Journalist Salauddin Shubo, RK Somen, Yumnam Piba, President of Pourei Apakpa.
Other activities in the program included dance, khongjom ishai, khubak ishai (song). 4 teams participated in the alphabet competition. The Hoktyarkhola team won the first place.
