Recently, a video of Dubai resident Sultan Ahmad Hiran beating a young man in front of the police inside the police station went viral on Facebook. The incident took place in Saturia police station in August last year. The news of this incident was recently published in various media. The news referred to Sultan as the 'leader of the gold smuggling ring'. After that, the uproar started over the incident.

However, Saturia police sources said that the incident is being investigated by the Manikganj district police after the news was published in the media. Sultan Ahmed Hiron, a resident of Dubai, sat in the police inspector (investigation) room of Saturia police station and beat up the youth. ASI Tariq Aziz, who has already been accused in this incident, has been temporarily suspended. Apart from that police inspector (investigation) Mohabbat Ali has also been transferred.

Sultan's elder brother Jubo League leader Farooq Mia said that Baralekha Upazila Jubo League general secretary Kamal Hossain took them to the minister. He said, Sultan had sent gold from abroad with a young man from Saturia for his wife and my sister's daughter. It was said that the young man would give us the gold in the country. But he didn't. After a few days, the Sultan came to the country and went to Shahab Uddin, the minister of our area, and asked for help in recovering the gold. Although the police could not recover the gold, the matter was resolved by recovering Tk 15 lakh from the young man. Farooq claims that his brother Sultan is not involved in gold smuggling. He was framed as a gold smuggler and sent to jail. He was recently released from jail. But now he is in Dubai.

Local people of Kashemnagar area said that Sultan has been in Dubai for a long time. But they know that Sultan sells gold. But they do not know whether gold is involved in smuggling or not. However, they heard that Sultan was arrested by the Dhaka Airport Police in a gold smuggling case a few months ago. He got bail a few days ago.

Environment Minister Md. Shahab Uddin recently told the media that Sultan is the son of his area. The Sultan came to him and informed him that he had lost his gold. It also stated that the gold was legal and duty paid. Seeing that the gold was legitimate, he asked the police to look into the matter legally.
