Easter Sunday celebration at Sreemangal
It's just dawn. The darkness had not yet completely fallen. In the meantime, Christians have started coming to the venue in various vehicles. Before six in the morning, the field was filled with the arrival of more than five hundred people. On one side the sun is rising through the darkness, on the other side the congregational prayer has started. Mulsur: May our lives be illuminated by the pure light of the resurrected Christ.
Today, Sunday (April 9) in the early morning of Moulvibazar's Sreemangal Suburb, Catholic Mission's Old Notre Dame School grounds, this is how Christians' Resurrection Day or Easter Sunday started.
The event was organized by Sreemangal Punurutthan Suryodaya Antamandlik Upasana Executive Committee. The Easter Sunday morning special worship service was held with a prayer by Rev. Pastor Benjamin Costa.
Father James Shyamal Gomez CSC, President of Sreemangal Resurrection Suryodaya Antamandlik Upasana Executive Committee, discussed the biography of Jesus Christ in the prayer meeting.
Rev. John Bright Gazi, senior pastor of Bangladesh Baptist Church Fellowship (BBCF), inter-denominational committee member moderated the program.
Pastor of Church of God Lumdonbok Mission Rev. Pirin Sooting, Pastor Rev. Ebrington Palong, Rev. Sakhariya Kot, Sylhet Presbyterian Synod Co-General Secretary Phila Patmi, Church of God Lumdonbok Mission General Secretary Lovely Suchiang, Inter-denominational Executive Committee Treasurer Dominic Sarkar Rony, Shakil were also present. Pamthet and others. Members of Baramchal Church of God Lumdonbok Mission performed Christian religious music in between the prayer meeting.
Salvation Suchiang, a Christian from the Khasi community who came to the event from Baramchal Church of God Lumdonbok Mission, said, Easter Sunday is being held in Srimangal, so we came to the prayer meeting with a group to perform religious music early in the morning. We are very happy to be here. Because the day is a very big day for us. It is very nice to come to this large-scale event. Here we prayed, sang and met everyone. All in all great.
Pastor Reva: John Bright Gazi, one of the members of the Resurrection Sunrise Interfaith Worship Committee, said that on this day Jesus Christ, the founder of Christianity, rose from the dead. Christians in all parts of the world, including Bangladesh, are celebrating Easter Sunday with proper religious dignity. He said that Easter Sunday morning prayer program has been organized for the second time in Srimangal Upazila. Reva: John Bright Gazi also said, we have organized big. All Christian denominations including Catholics, Baptists, Presbyterians, Church of God Nazarene Missions have participated in prayers here. Here we worshiped in brotherhood. We wish we could pray for all through our risen Lord Jesus Christ. I can pray for this country, I can pray for the people of this country. May the beautiful country we live in be even more beautiful. May we all religions, all castes live together and worship God according to each religion. Our prayers are for everyone.
