Lightning kills 3 in Moulvibazar
Two people were killed by lightning in separate incidents in Srimangal and Kamalganj of Moulvibazar.
The incident happened on Sunday (April 23).
According to local sources, heavy rain and thunder started in Srimangal upazila from this morning. When Riaz Uddin went to Hail Howar to harvest paddy, it started raining. At that time, lightning struck him and he fell to the ground. Later, the locals rescued him in an injured condition and took him to Srimangal Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
The deceased Riaz Uddin Srimangal is the son of Mohabbat Ali of Lalbagh residential area.
Meanwhile, a farmer named Som Shabdkar (42) died in Kamalganj upazila this morning while grazing cows in the field due to lightning. At this time one of his cows died. The deceased is the son of deceased Girindra Shabdkar of North Tilakpur village of Kamalganj Sadar Union No. 5 of Som Shabdkar Upazila. This incident happened around 9:30 am on Sunday.
