70% boro paddy harvesting has been completed in Haor of Moulvibazar. Harvesting is done by fully mechanized harvester machines.
That is why labor crisis is not seen. District Agriculture Extension Department said that paddy harvesting will be completed in Howar within the next one week.
However, the farmers are disappointed due to the appearance of leopards in Bri-28 rice. Farmers Abdur Rahim, Abul Kalam, Abdul Bari of Athangiri Bara Haor area of Sadar Upazila said that this year we do not have grains (paddy). All are gone. If you hold scissors with kamala (worker) that is also loss (loss).
It has been found out that Bri-28, 29 and 44 varieties of rice have been destroyed in the entire district. The Agriculture Department said that this year, leopards have been seen in Bri-28 rice in some lands, but the amount is very small, only 90 hectares.
As a result there will be no impact on total production. Among them, hawre cultivation has been done on 27 thousand 750 hectares of land.
This year Boro rice production target is 2 lakh 29 thousand metric tons. Hopefully that will be achieved. Last year production was 2 lakh 28 thousand metric tons.
