Sylheti daughter-in-law elected SAARC Business Council President

Sylhet daughter-in-law Dr. Mantasha Ahmed has been nominated as the president of SAARC Business Council Bangladesh (SBCB). SBCB is a business chamber for women entrepreneurs. This business organization started with 33 successful entrepreneurs along with four advisors.

Dr. Mantasha Ahmed is the daughter-in-law of Association of Fashion Designers of Bangladesh and former Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith.

SAARC Business Council Bangladesh (SBCB) is an organization that represents the Women's Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICC) in the SAARC countries and works to empower women.

WICC is the premium national business chamber dedicated to the global impact of women entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs and professionals at all levels. Meanwhile, SBCB is committed to promote Bangladeshi women-led business promotion and capacity building with the support of government, private and other global business networks and to emphasize policy framework as well as workplace development to mainstream their interests. It is also committed to working on the business potential of women entrepreneurs, including reducing their business barriers through exposure, mentoring and networking. Since the beginning, they have been actively participating in Sylhet and Chittagong along with the capital. Looking to expand to other regions of the country.

It should be noted that Dr. Mantasha is the former president of Bangladesh-India Business Council, board member of SME Foundation and founder of fashion brand Desi Shomoy.

She has been making significant contributions in social service, women empowerment, entrepreneurship and leadership development, employment creation for a long time. For these contributions, he has previously received various awards and honors from JCI, WICCI, Page 3 and abroad. In 2013, she received the International Women Entrepreneur Challenge Award at a conference held in the South American country of Peru.
