SCC Election : Candidates in Sylhet hold campaigns!

Even though BNP will not participate in this election, the main fight will be between the ruling Awami League and the opposition party Jatiya Party candidate. Apart from this, Islami Andolan Bangladesh nominee Hajef Maulana Mahmudul Hasan is also in discussion.

Total voters in 42 wards are 4 lakh 86 thousand 605 people. Among them 2 lakh 53 thousand 763 men and 2 lakh 32 thousand 842 women. Total centers 190 and polling booths 1 thousand 364. After the establishment of Sylhet City Corporation in 2002, this is the first time that all the wards of Sylhet are voting through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
