Moulvibazar`s BGB detained 3 Rohingya women

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) has detained three Rohingya women while infiltrating the Indian state of Tripura through Dhali border of Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar. They were arrested from plantation area No. 24 of Dhali tea garden on the border of the upazila on Friday morning. Before the arrival of the BGB, the four Rohingya men who were with the three women escaped and entered India. At this time, they were detained by BSF, said the officer in charge of Kamalganj police station.

The detained Rohingya women are Minara Begum (20), daughter of Syed Syedul Amin (20), Karmina Begum (20), daughter of Iqbal Ahmad and Hamima Begum (20), daughter of Noor Alam, of Camp No. 14 in Cox's Bazar Ukhiya.

According to local people and Kamalganj police station sources, four Rohingya men and three women were crossing the border of Dhali tea garden area and entering India this morning. At this time BGB members of Dhalei camp chased and arrested three Rohingya women. The remaining four male Rohingyas fled into India and were apprehended by BSF personnel. The detained women escaped from Ukhia camp in Cox's Bazar and came to Moulvibazar yesterday. They wanted to enter India through Dhal border in the morning.

BGB Srimangal Sector Headquarters Commander Colonel Yachin said, "We have detained three Rohingya women. They have been handed over to Kamalganj police station. Regarding the four male Rohingyas, he said, "We have seen and arrested only three female Rohingyas." We do not know about the rest.

Kamalganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sanjay Chakraborty told Prothom Alo, 'BGB has handed over three Rohingya women to us. We are making arrangements to send them to Ukhia Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar. After talking to them, we came to know that there were four others with them, who entered India and were detained by the BSF.
