Sylhet City Corporation Elections
United AL to ensure victory of ‘boat’ : Nanak
Awami League presidium member and former minister Jahangir Kabir Nanak said that BNP-Jamaat is active to destabilize the country. And the people of the country are ready to answer their inaction. Mirza Fakhrul is giving provocative statements every day. But he can't show the courage to come to the election.
I want to say to him and BNP, come to the election if you have courage. Realize the verdict given by the people of Barisal Khulna. People are with us. And there is no use in dreaming of a caretaker government. Caretaker government will never return to this country.
Nanak said these things in an exchange meeting with the leaders of Awami League's Western Region Campaign Committee in Sylhet City Corporation Elections at an elite hotel in the metropolis on Wednesday (June 14) evening.
He said that no one could compete with Awami League for the post of mayor in Barisal Khulna. The same will happen in the upcoming Sylhet City Corporation elections. I firmly believe that the boat candidate Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury will be able to win the hearts of the people of Sylhet because of his qualifications. Because, now, none of the competing candidates have the same qualifications as him. But it will not work if you sit. Every leader and activist of Awami League should be campaigning with integrity. Until now the boat activists of Sylhet are working tirelessly. Its continuity should be maintained. The anti-Awami parties are engaged in a conspiracy to block the boat. But the people of Sylhet will not care about them. I believe that Awami leaders and activists of Sylhet will answer all their plots through the ballot. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also believes.
Nanak ordered the Awami leaders and activists of Sylhet to go door to door asking for votes after accepting the highest sacrifice.
Bangladesh Awami League presidium member Syed Jebunnesha Haque was the main speaker under the chairmanship of Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League president Masuk Uddin Ahmed and joint general secretary ATM Hasan Zebul.
Awami League Organizing Secretary Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Central Member Azizus Samad Don, Sylhet District Awami League Acting Shafikur Rahman Chowdhury, General Secretary Nasir Uddin Khan, Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary Professor Zakir Hossain, were present in the exchange meeting. General Secretary ATM Hasan Zebul, United Kingdom Awami League General Secretary Syed Sajidur Rahman Farooq and Central Volunteer League Vice President Subrata Purkayastha.
