Over 2 lakh sacrificial animals ready ahead of Eid-ul-Azha

Sylhet division has 2 lakh 12 thousand 999 animals for sacrifice on the holy Eid-ul-Azha. It is the account of the Department of Livestock. Beyond this there are some other animals at the individual level. which are out of this calculation.

Such information was given by Sylhet district livestock officer Dr. Muhammad Alamgir Kabir.

According to the Directorate of Livestock, there are 2 lakh 12 thousand 999 slaughterable animals in Sylhet division. Among them, there are 65 thousand 896 in Sylhet district, 35 thousand 28 in Moulvibazar district, 54 thousand 708 in Habiganj and 57 thousand 367 in Sunamganj.

Sylhet district has 28 thousand 245 bulls, 13 thousand oxen, 5 thousand 341 cows, 3 thousand 140 buffaloes, 11 thousand 798 goats, 4 thousand 356 sheep and 56 other sacrificial animals.

There are 35 thousand 28 sacrificial animals including 17 thousand 415 bulls, 3 thousand 729 oxen, 3 thousand 342 cows, 1 thousand 280 buffaloes, 7 thousand 751 goats and 1 thousand 481 sheep in Moulvibazar.

In Habiganj district, there are 28 thousand 929 bulls, 4 thousand 941 oxen, 7 thousand 649 cows, 720 buffaloes, 8 thousand 974 goats and 3 thousand 489 sheep.

And in Sunamganj there are 30 thousand 469 bulls, 7 thousand 711 oxen, 8 thousand 156 cows, 1 thousand 294 buffaloes, 5 thousand 336 goats, 4 thousand 331 sheep, totaling 57 thousand 367 sacrificial animals.

Sylhet district livestock officer Dr. Muhammad Alamgir Kabir said that the number of animals in Sylhet division is more than last year. By matching the sacrificial animals with the locals and the farmers, the demand will be fulfilled to a large extent. We hope that Sylhet's animals will go to other parts of the country for sale to meet our needs.
