No question of supporting anyone in election: Mayor Ariful
Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said that Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury is not supporting anyone in Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) elections.
He said, 'There is no question of supporting anyone. On election day, I will go to my grandfather's house to pick mangoes.
Mayor Ariful said these words in a Facebook page video around 12:15 on Tuesday night.
Talking about Wednesday's vote, Sisik mayor and BNP executive member Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, "I have already said that my party will not go to the polls." On May 20, I held a rally and announced to boycott the elections. Now there is no question of supporting anyone.
Addressing BNP leaders and activists, Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said, "You will not take part in farce elections." In response to a question, he mentioned that he was not interested in the elections and said that he would go to his grandfather's house and pick mangoes today.
Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury kept the issue of not participating in the election for a long time. After various dramas, he withdrew from the election by talking about the party's decision. Many people thought that Babul would get the votes of Arif Balay or BNP as Jatiya Party mayoral candidate Nazrul Islam Babul was his friend. But Ariful said that he did not support anyone even before the vote.
