BNP prepares for a grand Sylhet rally
BNP is agitating for various demands including the resignation of the current government and national elections under the non-partisan interim government. In continuation of this, BNP will hold a youth rally in Sylhet on July 9. The party's subsidiary organizations Jubo Dal, Svechchasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal are jointly organizing this rally.
The party has already made various preparations to make the rally a success. On the occasion of the rally, apart from Sylhet metropolis, the party is energizing the activists by distributing leaflets and holding meetings in various upazilas of the division. Central leaders have also come to the field to give them motivation and guidance. For the past few days, campaigning is going on from the district, upazila to the union level of the central leader and the metropolis to make the rally a success.
Youth Dal Central General Secretary (Acting) Shafiqul Islam Milton, Volunteer Dal Central General Secretary Rajib Ahsan, Volunteer Dal Central Vice President Dr. Zahedul Kabir, Chhatra Dal Central General Secretary Saif Mahmud Jewel is campaigning at the grass root level besides holding meetings with local leaders and activists.
They appealed to the youth to turn the Sylhet rally into a sea of youth.
Local BNP leaders are not sitting ahead of the rally. District and metropolitan BNP held an emergency meeting with senior leaders of the party in a city hotel on Tuesday night to succeed.
BNP Central Organizing Secretary Sakhawat Hasan Zaiba was present in the meeting- Advisor to BNP Chairperson Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Central Co-Organizing Secretary Kalim Uddin Ahmad Milan, Sisik Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury, National Executive Committee Member Dr. Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury, Abul Kaher Shamim, Sylhet District BNP President Abdul Qayyum Chowdhury, Metropolitan BNP President Nasim Hossain, Executive Committee Member Hadiya Chowdhury Munni, District BNP General Secretary Advocate Emran Ahmad Chowdhury, Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Imdad Hossain Chowdhury, District Jubo Dal President Advocate Muminul Islam Mumin, General Secretary Maqsud Ahmad and others.
City Mayor and BNP central leader Ariful Haque Chowdhury held public meetings in various areas of the city on Wednesday. Metropolitan BNP leaders distributed mass communication and leaflets in Ambarkhana, Dargagate and Chowhatta areas of the city.
General Secretary of Sylhet district BNP Advocate Emran Ahmad Chowdhury was the chief guest at the meeting organized by Jaintapur Upazila BNP on Wednesday in order to make the youth rally successful at Alia Madrasa ground.
Upazila BNP Senior Vice President Abdul Ahad presided over the meeting conducted by General Secretary Abdul Hafeez, Sylhet District BNP Organizing Secretary Advocate Al Aslam Mumin Economic Affairs Secretary Advocate Mostak Ahmad Fishery Affairs Secretary Jalala Khan were special guests.
In the speech of the chief guest, Advocate Emran Ahmad Chowdhury said, "On July 9, there will be a gathering of people at Sylhet Aliya Madrasa ground. Bangladesh people today want change in the national government. Fascist government is running out of time. Soon this fascist government will fall. The fall of the Awami League government is only a matter of time.
Meanwhile, to make the rally successful, Sylhet Mahanagar Volunteers Party's preparation meeting was the chief guest of Dr. Dr. Zahedul Kabir.
He said in the meeting, "The government has cheated the countrymen with the slogan of Digital Bangladesh." Now they want to mislead the youth of the country by talking about the so-called smart Bangladesh. The youth community today is disenfranchised like other citizens of the country.
"There is no rule of law, no freedom of speech in the country. Therefore, the young society should take to the streets unitedly against the fascist government. On July 9, young people will gather in Sylhet, inshallah.
On the other hand, apart from participating in various programs during the day on Tuesday, Rajib Ahsan, Central General Secretary of the Volunteers' Party and member of the BNP Executive Committee, was the chief guest at the preparation meeting at night.
He said in the meeting, "Hasina's government, which came to power by stealing votes in Nishira, has brought the country to the brink of destruction." To take revenge for all this, to judge and to save the country, the youth rally on July 9 must be successful. Resistance must be built to bring down the Awami misrule from this holy land, Sylhet.
