6 more dengue patients detected in Sylhet
The number of dengue patients affected by Aedes mosquito bites is increasing across Sylhet. At the same time, dengue-carrying Aedes mosquito larvae are found in different parts of the city and district. On Tuesday (July 11), 5 more dengue patients were detected in Sylhet. Two of them are residents of Sylhet and three are residents of Habiganj. With this, the number of dengue patients in the department has reached 95.
According to Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) and District Civil Surgeon office sources, 95 people have been infected with dengue disease in Sylhet city and district since January. Currently, 19 people are admitted to the hospital. Among them, 12 dengue patients are under treatment in Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, 6 in Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College Hospital and 1 in Goainghat Upazila Health Complex of the district.
Meanwhile, city corporation teams have been regularly searching for Aedes mosquito larvae in the metropolis for the past few days. Recently, larvae were found in 2 places of Ward No. 26 of the city and in some places of the building under construction of MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Besides, Aedes mosquito larvae were found in 6 places of Ward No. 26 and several places in Ragib-Rabeya Hospital area on Monday (July 10).
