1004 families are receiving Prime Minister`s Gift in Moulvibazar
On the occasion of Mujib Borsh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the program of providing 2nd century land and houses to landless and homeless families in the 4th phase under Asharyan-2 project on March 22.
The information was given in the press briefing organized by the district administration on the afternoon of Monday March 20 in the district administration conference room with journalists of print and electronic media. Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Prabhanshu Som Mahan and Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Md. Sharif Uddin, Sadar Upazila Land Officer Sadia Sultana were present at this time.
It was informed from the press briefing that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the program of providing land and houses to the landless and homeless families in the 4th phase under Asharyan-2 project on the occasion of Mujib Barsha on March 22.
Under this program, around 39,365 families will be handed over land and houses across the country. Among them, a total of 3,638 housing programs will be inaugurated in four districts of Sylhet division. A total of 1,004 houses including the remaining 124 of the 3rd phase and 880 of the 4th phase will be inaugurated on March 22 in Moulvibazar district.
Among the total 1004 houses that can be opened, there are 167 houses in Sadar Upazila, 154 houses in Rajnagar Upazila, 64 houses in Kulaura Upazila, 162 houses in Juri Upazila, 109 houses in Baralekha Upazila, 200 houses in Kamalganj Upazila and 148 houses in Srimangal Upazila. According to the latest list in Rajnagar Upazila, total 363 people were homeless.
Among them, 98 people were provided houses in the 1st stage, 50 people in the 2nd stage, 59 people in the 3rd stage and 147 people in the 4th stage. The remaining 9 have been provided housing with local assistance. A letter has been received stating that Rajnagar Upazila will be declared landless and homeless by the Prime Minister on March 22.
Among the total 4611 homeless and landless people in Moulvibazar district, 1126 houses have been handed over in the 1st phase and 1151 houses in the 2nd phase. Out of 779 houses constructed in phase 3, 655 houses have already been handed over and remaining 124 houses will be handed over.
