SCC Election : 5 leaders bought the nomination of Awami League

Sale of nomination papers of Awami League for the post of mayor in the upcoming Sylhet City Corporation (CCIC) elections has started. Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's political office in Dhanmondi on Sunday morning (April 9) started the sale of nomination papers, Deputy Office Secretary of the party Sayem Khan.

It is reported that 5 leaders of Awami League who want to be the mayor of Sylhet city have bought the party nomination form till the last news (2:30 am).

They are - United Kingdom Awami League Joint General Secretary Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League Vice President Asad Uddin Ahmad, General Secretary Professor Zakir Hossain, Sisic Councilor and Metropolitan Awami League Joint Editor Azadur Rahman Azad, Organizing Secretary and former Mayor Badr Uddin Ahmad Kamran's son Dr. Armaan Ahmad Shiplu.

Sources close to them have confirmed this information.

Sources said - Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury himself attended and collected the nomination form. And Abdul Alim Tushar, former general secretary of Metropolitan Chhatra League on behalf of Asad Uddin Ahmed, Dewan Subhan Dipan, information and research affairs secretary of Metropolitan Awami League on behalf of Professor Zakir Hossain, and District Chhatra League leaders Salman Ahmed and Promath Ranjan Talukder collected nomination papers on behalf of Azadur Rahman Azad.

Besides, Armaan Ahmad Shiplu himself collected party nomination papers.

It is known that the application form can be collected and submitted from the Dhanmondi political office of the Awami League president every day from 11:30 am to 4 pm from Sunday to April 12.
