Anwaruzzaman wanted everyone`s cooperation

United Kingdom Awami League Joint General Secretary Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury is the mayoral candidate of Awami League in Sylhet city elections to be held on June 21. He was nominated at a meeting of the Local Government and People's Representative Nomination Board of Awami League at Ganabhaban, the Prime Minister's official residence, on Saturday (April 15) at 11:00 am.

Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, who was a boatman in Sylhet and gave an immediate reaction, told Sylhetview - First of all, I am very happy and glad that the party has put their trust in me and nominated me as the mayor of the boat in Sylhet. For this, I express my utmost gratitude to the party president and public leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said - this time I want the cooperation of my Sylhet party leaders and workers. I want to move forward with the guidance and advice of those who are in the central committee of Sylhet and with the cooperation of all the leaders and workers of Sylhet district and metropolitan Awami League and allied organizations and everyone should now ensure the victory of boat in the CSIC elections.

Meanwhile, on Saturday afternoon, Anwaruzzaman expressed his reaction and wrote on his social media Facebook ID - 'Alhamdulillah.....

Bangladesh Awami League has nominated me as the mayoral candidate for the upcoming Sylhet City Corporation elections. I am grateful to Almighty Allah. The successful prime minister of Bangladesh, the guardian of 180 million people, the president of the Bangladesh Awami League, the leader of the people, Sheikh Hasina, I thank from the bottom of my heart, she has nominated me as the candidate of the Awami League for this great responsibility. Thank you to all the nomination board of Bangladesh Awami League.

Thanks, gratitude and greetings to my political colleagues, comrades, leaders and workers at all levels of Sylhet.
I am deeply grateful to the honorable citizens of Sylhet City Corporation, I am forever indebted to you for the love and support you have given me as your child. I believe that your unwavering support will continue and you will vote for me in the next Sylhet City Corporation election on 21st June and will give all your support to build Sylhet City Corporation as the first smart city of Smart Bangladesh declared by the leader Sheikh Hasina.'

It should be noted that after all the speculations, the joint general secretary of United Kingdom Awami League Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury has been decided as the boatman in the upcoming Sylhet City Corporation (CCIC) elections. Obaidul Quader, the party's general secretary and member of the nomination board, confirmed this information to the media on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier, 11 people bought party nominations to be the mayoral candidate in the boat symbol in Sisik election. They are - United Kingdom Awami League Joint General Secretary Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Awami League former Central Organizing Secretary Advocate Misbah Uddin Siraj, Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League Vice President Asad Uddin Ahmad, General Secretary Professor Zakir Hossain, Muktijoddha Sangsad Metropolitan Unit Branch Sylhet Deputy Commander and Sylhet Metropolitan Awami League. Vice-president and former councilor of 3rd ward Bir Muktijodha Abdul Khaliq, joint editor of Metropolitan Awami League and CSIC councilor Azadur Rahman Azad, joint editor ATMA Hasan Zebul, son of former mayor Badr Uddin Ahmed Kamran. Arman Ahmed Shiplu, Metropolitan Awami League leader Prince Sadruzzaman Chowdhury and businessman-sports organizer Mahiuddin Ahmad Salim and Metropolitan Awami League organizing secretary Councilor Saleh Ahmad Salim.

Sylhet City Corporation election will be held on June 21. Continuous voting in EVMs will continue from 8 am to 4 pm on this day.

The last date for submission of nomination papers is May 23. Nomination papers will be selected on May 25. And the deadline for withdrawal of nomination papers is June 1.
