Load shedding has increased across Sylhet despite record power generation. Hour by hour load shedding. Excruciating public life in unbearable heat. Electricity is always going day and night. Sylhet is experiencing load shedding for more than 10 to 12 hours day and night. In this situation, the people of Sylhet are angry. Last Sunday (April 16) night, ordinary people protested in the city.
Residents of the city say that there is no electricity for half of the day, and people are already disoriented in the intense heat. Once the power goes, it takes one to one and a half hours to come. They are expressing their anger at increasing load shedding across Sylhet despite the record in electricity production.
Businessmen are also in trouble. Businessmen said that such frequent load shedding during the Eid season is hurting business.
Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid called Bipu to reduce the suffering of the public by stopping power supply and loadshedding. AK Abdul Momen MP. On the phone, he asked for cooperation in stopping load shedding by ensuring power supply as per demand.
In response, the Minister of State for Power said that due to the increase in electricity consumption and disruption of production in some centers due to intense heat, it is not possible to supply electricity as per the demand across the country. The work is going on to rectify the faults and put the power plants into full production. The ongoing power crisis will end in a few days.
Abdul Qadir, Chief Engineer of Sylhet Power Development Board, said that although the electricity production in the country is a record, the demand has also increased several times this summer. Electricity demand in Sylhet division is now 620 MW. But we are getting 515 MW. Sylhet now has a deficit of 105 MW. So there is load shedding.
Abdul Qadir said, the office court will be closed from tomorrow (April 19). In that case the situation may be somewhat normal. Everyone should be economical in using electricity. Electricity wastage should be prevented. If so, the problem will be solved quickly.
