Young people cleaned the garbage thrown by tourist in Madhabkunda
All of them are wearing blue T-shirts. Some of them were picking up empty packets of chips. Someone was collecting polythene and empty water bottles. Someone was hoarding them again.
On Tuesday (April 18) at one o'clock in the morning, this scene was suddenly seen in Madhabkunda area of Baralekha, Moulvibazar. Thus, a group of young people collected the polythene, empty packets of chips and empty water bottles thrown by the tourists visiting the Madhabkunda area and burnt them there. Later they put a plastic dustbin there.
These young people are members of Baralekha Kathalatli Samaj Kalyan Parishad, a voluntary organization. Members of the organization cleaned an area of one kilometer in and around the Madhabkunda main gate on Tuesday. Public representatives and local businessmen joined them in the cleanliness campaign. Locals appreciated their work.
Members of the organization said that tourists from different parts of the country visit Madhabkunda Falls every year in addition to various festivals. These tourists bring polythene, chips-chanachur and water bottles with them and after eating they leave them everywhere instead of throwing them in the dustbin. In addition to the damage to the environment of Madhabkunda, the beauty is being lost. Recently while visiting Madhavakund, the matter came to the attention of Kathalatli Samaj Kalyan Parishad chairman teacher Delwar Hossain Chowdhury. He then thought of conducting a clean-up campaign in the Madhabkunda area. He informed the members of his organization about this. Then on Tuesday (April 18) at one o'clock in the morning, the members of the organization started a clean-up operation in Madhabkunda area. Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Taj Uddin and Dakshinbhag North UP Chairman Enam Uddin and local businessmen joined them in the cleanliness campaign.
Belal Ahmed, a local businessman, said that the tourists came to Madhabkunda to eat polythene, chips and left empty packets and water bottles everywhere. Some members of a voluntary organization in our area collected them and burnt them. They are doing a good job. We also cooperated with them.
The chairman of the council, teacher Delwar Hossain Chowdhury, said on Tuesday that Madhabkunda has come under our union. Almost got there. But when I went there, I saw polythene, empty packets of chips and empty bottles of water lying everywhere. Tourists throw them away after eating. Even if there is a dustbin, they don't throw them there. In addition to the damage to the environment of Madhabkunda, the beauty is being lost. Sad to see this. I wonder if it can be cleaned one day. Later I share the matter with the members of my organization. As they responded, today I conducted the cleaning drive.
Council President Abdullah Al Saju and General Secretary Kawsar Ahmed Roni said, "We have cleaned an area of about one kilometer in Madhavkund." Polythene, chips-chanachur packets are burnt there after collecting. I have also given a dustbin there. Public representatives and businessmen have helped us in our work.
