Disaster response exercise with students in Sunamganj

On the occasion of the National Disaster Preparedness Day, earthquake and fire drills and discussion meetings were held under the slogan 'Smart Bangladesh Pratyaya, Disaster Preparedness Always'.

Organized by the Sunamganj district administration and with the cooperation of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, a drill and discussion was held at the Sunamganj Government SC Girls' High School ground on Sunday afternoon.

The drill shows and teaches students how to deal with a fire incident. The members of Sunamganj Fire Service and Civil Defense gave oral and physical demonstration about preparedness for earthquake and other disasters as well as fire. Students participate in the exercise spontaneously.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Mohiuddin Alamgir, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Shafiqul Islam, Government SC Girls High School Principal Hafiz Mashhud Chowdhury, Acting Deputy Assistant Director of Sunamganj Fire Service Newton Das Talukdar and others spoke in the discussion meeting after the earthquake and fire drill.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Mohiuddin Alamgir said in the speech of the chief guest in the discussion meeting, smart students are needed to build a smart Bangladesh. In today's exercise our students will be smart to deal with disasters. They will come forward and stand by people in any disaster.
