Counter case against MP Manik and Shamim In Sunamganj

Two more cases have been filed in Sunamganj court due to the killing of Jubo League leader Laik Miah in Chhat. Two separate cases were filed in the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court (Chatak Zone) of Sunamganj on Wednesday.

In one case, Sunamganj-5 (Chatak-Dwarabazar) Member of Parliament Muhibur Rahman Manik has been made the main defendant and in another case, Shamim Ahmed Chowdhury, the Awami League candidate for the seat, has been made the main defendant.

A person named Kamrul Islam Kajal from Mandlibhog area of the city filed the case against 42 people including Member of Parliament Muhibur Rahman Manik.

On the other hand, Parveen Begum, wife of Taj Uddin of Mandlibhog area, filed another case against 31 people including Awami League's former information and research affairs secretary Awami League nominee Shamim Ahmed Chowdhury.

Court Judge Muhammad Helal Uddin directed the PBI to investigate the two cases filed in the court. APP Advocate Chhayadur Rahman of Sunamganj Judge Court confirmed the matter of counter-claim.

It is known that on March 28, Jubo League leader Layek Miah was stabbed to death by an opponent in Ganeshpur Kheyaghat of Chatak Municipal area. He is the son of Abdul Mannan of Mandalibhog area.

In response to this murder, two cases were filed in the court accusing each other of theft, robbery, vandalism and arson.

Azizul Islam, the deceased's brother, has filed a case against 18 people, including MP's nephew and municipal councilor, in connection with the murder of Jubo League leader Layek Mia.
