Mithali Express to Darjeeling!

Travel-hungry Bangladeshis have long kept Darjeeling on their list of favorite destinations, but earlier it took around 16 to 18 hours to get there. However, due to Mithali Express, which was launched after a long time, this long journey time has reduced a lot. That is, New Jalpaiguri station is easily reached from Dhaka through Mithali Express. From there you will reach Darjeeling in 3 hours by taxi.

Mithali Express, the third passenger train running between India and Bangladesh, was launched after 57 years. The train plies this route twice a week from New Jalpaiguri, India. As per schedule, every Sunday and Wednesday from New Jalpaiguri to Dhaka and every Monday and Thursday from Dhaka Cantonment to New Jalpaiguri.

Mithali Express departs from New Jalpaiguri station every Sunday and Wednesday at 11.45 am and reaches Dhaka at 10.30 pm. Again, every Monday and Thursday, this train leaves Dhaka at 9:50 PM and reaches India the next day at 7:15 AM. The running time of the train is 9 hours 55 minutes.

The Mithali Express train has a 10-minute break for driver change at Haldibari station on the India side and at Chilahati on the Bangladesh side. It also has no breaks. Train tickets for this journey are available at New Jalpaiguri Station and Foreign Passenger Reservation Counters at Kolkata Railway Station. Tickets are available at Kamalapur and Chittagong stations in Bangladesh.
