5 Most beautiful Islands in the Bangladesh

There are few places as beautiful as an island to travel to. Far from the mainland and surrounded only by water, each island is unique in its life, nature and way of life. Each island beckons us with its natural beauty and breathtaking scenery.

Let's know about some islands of Bangladesh, where travelers can visit at least once.

Saint Martin

St. Martin, the only coral island in Bangladesh, is a paradise for tourists. Located at a distance of about 120 km from Cox's Bazar city, St. Martin awaits tourists with its endless blue sky, clear blue water and rows of beautiful coconut trees.

One of the most tourist-friendly islands in Bangladesh, this island is open to visitors every November to March. To go to Saint Martin from any part of the country, you must first reach the southernmost upazila of Teknaf. Then there are daily morning ships from Teknaf to Saint Martin.

Chera Dip
Even though it is an island called Chhera Dwip discovered around 2000, it is actually an archipelago. Consisting of several small islands, this archipelago is also known as 'Cheradia' or 'Siradia' to the locals.

Located south of the mainland of St. Martin, the island has become one of the tourist attractions in St. Martin.

This island of coconut trees, natural rocks and corals fascinates everyone. Although one-third of the island is submerged at high tide, tourists can enjoy the stunning view of the blue ocean waves crashing on the rocks. The clear blue sea, open skies and mesmerizing sunsets draw a large number of tourists to Tirana Island. Shredded Island can be reached by trawler from St. Martin Island or by bicycle or foot at low tide.

Maheshkhali
Maheshkhali island is located in the Bay of Bengal, 12 km away from Cox's Bazar. It is the only hilly island of Bangladesh. It is said that the island was separated from the mainland in 1559 by a strong cyclone and tidal wave. It was named Maheshwar after a Buddhist monk about 200 years ago.

There are several small islands in Maheshkhali upazila (eg Sonadia), which can be visited from Cox's Bazar. The area is famous for production of betel nut, fish, shrimps, prawns, salt and pearls.

The center of tourist attraction in Maheshkhali is the Adinath Temple located on Mainak Hill. Countless visitors flock to this island every Falgun for the Adinath festival. Adinath temple, mangrove forests and hills combine to create a scene that is difficult to find anywhere else. With places like the Golden Temple, the island is not only an attractive tourist destination but also a region steeped in tradition and spirituality.

Maheshkhali can be reached by 2 different routes. Maheshkhali can be reached directly from Cox's Bazar by speedboat or trawler or by road from Chittagong to Chakria.

Qutubdia
Another island located in Cox's Bazar district is Kutubdia. The environment of this island with an area of 216 square kilometers is very diverse. It also has the largest wind power plant in Bangladesh. Beaches, Qutubdia Channel, Salt Marshes, Lighthouses and Qutub Auliya Shrine; With these, the island has become a great travel destination for tourists.

From the bus stand of Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar, you should first go to Magnama Ghat by local CNG. From there you can reach Kutubdia Island in a very short time by engine boat or speedboat.

Hatia
Hatia is an island located 17 km from the coast in the estuary of the Meghna River in the north of the Bay of Bengal. It is located in Noakhali District of Chittagong Division. The island was discovered in the mid-18th century, with the Meghna River flowing to the north and west, and the Bay of Bengal to the east and south.

Nijhum Island, Rahmat Bazar Ghat, Suryamukhi Beach, Island Development Agency Park, Shipboard and Domar Char are some of the tourist attractions in Hatiya. Apart from this, Hatiyar yogurt is quite popular.

Visitors can go to Chairman Ghat by bus or CNG from Noakhali and then reach the island by boat or launch.
