Bangladesh-India trains: BR increased the fares

The fares of three trains from Dhaka to Kolkata in India, New Jalpaiguri and Khulna to Kolkata route have increased.

This information was informed in an order signed by Bangladesh Railway Deputy Director Interchange Mohammad Mihrabur Rashid Khan on June 6. The order cited the rise in the dollar and travel tax as reasons for the fare increase.

According to the new order, the Maitri Express Dhaka to Kolkata AC seat fare, including travel tax and VAT, is a total of Tk 4,795. 3 thousand 530 taka including rent of AC chair, VAT and travel tax.

AC seat fare of Bandhan Express from Khulna to Kolkata route, including travel tax, total Tk 2 thousand 900. 2 thousand 265 taka including rent of AC chair, VAT and travel tax.

The rent of AC berth of Mithali Express from Dhaka to New Jalpaiguri route is 6 thousand 570 taka including VAT and travel tax, the rent of AC seat is 4 thousand 175 taka including VAT and travel tax, the rent of AC chair is 2 thousand 265 taka including VAT and travel tax.

Child fare from zero to 5 years will be charged at 50% of adult fare. The notification informed that the new fare will be implemented from July 1.
